It took a couple of hours, turned out fairly well I think.

I drew this with the new version of GIMP, which is awesome. They've made it much more like Photoshop, which I doubt anyone would disagree is a very good thing. Also it seems like the new version doesn't randomly crash like the old one did on my computer. There's nothing worse than losing an hour's work because I forgot to save and GIMP decides to suddenly crash.

Father's Day cartoon

Here's a cartoon I drew for a father's day card. I hadn't really been a big fan then but I was converted (it's funny how live music can do that). Anyway, at one point Bono was talking about his dad, and said something along the lines of "If my dad was here tonight, I think he'd say, 'son... take off your fucking glasses.'" We thought it was pretty funny, and a couple of weeks ago I had the idea to immortalise the phrase on a T-shirt. Here's the design:

Note that I didn't draw this from scratch, I traced over a photo. I love UNSW and I'm using the term here in an endearing way (sort of like how black people use the N word). After all, if you can't make fun of yourself, what right do you have to make fun of others?

Kenso Tech No. 5

This strip sort of blurred the lines of fact and fiction, which is what I wanted to do with KT in general. I envisioned that to reconcile these seemingly irreconcilable sides would usher in a new era of peace, harmony... and awesomeness.

So I grabbed my sketchbook and started sketching furiously, sweat forming on my brow as I intently brought into being my vision of a better tomorrow. I drew and I drew and I drew, and I scanned and I Photoshopped and I coloured and I shaded... and I dreamed.

And I CREATED.

And finally I was ready to share my vision with the world, to yell from the rooftops:

And so it came to pass, that I registered the domain www.modrocker.net to share the doctrine of the Mod Rocker. But it turned out that no-one really cared so now it's my sketch blog.

Then I decided it wasn't worth having a whole separate domain for it so I changed it to modrocker.middlerun.net, as on off-shoot of my main site.
