A dude with a sword

Sword dude

One of my early exercises in using guides to draw characters. His right arm looks a bit dumb not doing anything but I didn't really know what else to do with it.

Kenso Tech No. 6

Kenso Tech No. 6: The Things They Say

The last in the world renowned Kenso Tech series.

As an aside - "Kenso Tech" is a somewhat disparaging old nickname for UNSW. When it was first established is was the butt of lots of jokes, being called "a jumped-up tech", so someone coined the term Kenso Tech (the campus being in Kensington). I love UNSW and I'm using the term here in an endearing way (sort of like how black people use the N word). After all, if you can't make fun of yourself, what right do you have to make fun of others?

Kenso Tech No. 5

Kenso Tech No. 5: The Parking Situation

This strip sort of blurred the lines of fact and fiction, which is what I wanted to do with KT in general. I did find a better place to park, but it wasn't much of a discovery, plenty of students do park there, and I haven't heard of their cars getting broken into.

Talking Head

Talking Head

Not sure where this idea came from came from.

I originally posted it as a Kenso Tech strip but since it has nothing to do with uni I am revoking its title.

Kenso Tech No. 4

Kenso Tech No. 4: The Future

An exercise is re-using artwork with only minor changes.

Kenso Tech No. 3

Kenso Tech No. 3: Introduction to Circuits

In case you were wondering the circuit diagram on the projector screen is Silicon Chip's theremin.

Kenso Tech No. 2

Kenso Tech No. 2: The First Day

Kenso Tech, strip the second.

Kenso Tech No. 1

Kenso Tech No. 1: O-Week

This was the first episode of my more-or-less abandoned comic about university life. I lost interest. Now I'm going to make comics about zombies! Well, probably not. Dr. McNinja's already doing that.

About Mod Rocker

In the beginning there was but an idea: the fusion of two warring factions, the Mods and the Rockers. I envisioned that to reconcile these seemingly irreconcilable sides would usher in a new era of peace, harmony... and awesomeness.

So I grabbed my sketchbook and started sketching furiously, sweat forming on my brow as I intently brought into being my vision of a better tomorrow. I drew and I drew and I drew, and I scanned and I Photoshopped and I coloured and I shaded... and I dreamed.

And finally I was ready to share my vision with the world, to yell from the rooftops:

And so it came to pass, that I registered the domain to share the doctrine of the Mod Rocker. But it turned out that no-one really cared so now it's my sketch blog.

Then I decided it wasn't worth having a whole separate domain for it so I changed it to, as on off-shoot of my main site.
